Make a Difference
Guardian ad Litem Foundation (GAL) of Tampa Bay’s mission is to provide advocacy and support for the 3,000 abused and neglected children in the GAL Program of Pinellas and Pasco Counties. Our goal is simple — that every child has a volunteer GAL to help them navigate the turbulent waters of the dependency system. GAL volunteer child advocates are the voice of the child in court and the child’s best interest is their only interest.
GAL volunteers help children both in and out of the courtroom to make sure their needs are met and they are often the only consistent adult in a child’s life. Tampa Bay’s foster children need more help than the system can provide…and you can help.
The mission of the GAL Foundation of Tampa Bay is to provide advocacy and support for abused, abandoned or neglected children in the GAL Program of Pinellas and Pasco Counties.
We envision a world where every child has a safe and permanent home and the opportunity to thrive.
Federal legislation requires that every abused and neglected child removed from their home have their best interests represented by a GAL in court. These volunteer child advocates are central to fulfilling society’s most fundamental obligation to protect our children. GAL volunteers are the voice of the child in court and the child’s best interest is their only interest. They help them both in and out of the courtroom to make sure the children’s needs are met by the system and they are often the only consistent adult in a child’s life.
Foster children in Pinellas and Pasco counties often need more help than the system can provide. The Guardian ad Litem Foundation was founded to ensure that the basic rights and needs for every child in the Guardian ad Litem program are met.
Together, we can make a difference in the life of a child.
